The BBS have managed to obtain a very special venue indeed. We are delighted to offer to you this beautiful country hall, complete with impressive outbuildings. This is all set in its own private grounds in Pengwern, North Wales. The house itself was formerly used as a home for Lord Mostyn, and is now used as a special college/school for Mencap. Mencap is a charitable organisation which has worldwide reaches, and we are grateful to the superb staff at Pengwern College who have made great efforts to ensure the accommodation and food for you, are of a high standard. For those of you who are put into accommodation within these grounds, please treat your rooms with utmost respect, since these are, peoples homes for most of the year, and you are sharing their personal spaces. The site itself is adjacent to the throwing field, which is close enough to throw a brick into, let alone a boomerang. The field is approx. 400 metres x 200 metres, and in its past, used to be covered with over 1000 Oak trees.( Now only one dead one remains, which will hopefully be removed for 2007). As of 2006 the field is used for cattle grazing, and the farmer is going to have it in good shape for the competition.
